18th century cartoon. John Bull protected by a Scot (Bute) who is holding off a foppish Frenchman with one hand while helping John Bull to hold up a staff with a liberty cap with the other hand. A Dutchman picks john Bull’s pocket while an American Indian steals the liberty cap. This is one of the few pro-Scottish cartoons extant.
